Ederney Community Development Trust (ECDT) was established in 1990 to promote social and economic development and provide education and training opportunities to people from the surrounding area.
It is managed by a voluntary committee in the rural village of Ederney in the Glendarragh Valley, between Enniskillen and Omagh, within Fermanagh District Council.
ECDT has a part-time Development Officer based in Ederney Town Hall - a community venue in the centre of the village owned by Fermanagh District Council. The Town Hall is used as a community meeting space and also hosts weekly parent and toddlers group, a drumming class, and boxing club and are planning to open a drop in facility on Thursday mornings.
BT Connected Communities as part of the Get IT Together programme, in partnership with UK charity Citizens Online, has invested four refurbished computers to compliment their existing four laptops to meet demand for enhanced public access to computers and the Internet.
BT Connected Communities are working closely with the group Volunteer Now, BT and the local Rural Enabler to recruit and train Digital Champion volunteers to deliver short informal fun introductory computer and internet sessions to the local community.
